Ship Description
The brand new MS Amadolce, commissioned in 2009. She sets new standards in European river cruising
and offers a number of features no other European river cruise ship can
match. The ship was designed and built in Holland by Europe's best ship
builders and under the watchful eyes of Europe's top Caterers. It truly
is a remarkable ship and will make your cruise experience unforgettable.
On board the MS Amadolce you will enjoy the luxury of more space than on any
other cruise ship in Europe. There are 2 lounges located on the Violin deck
where you can enjoy panoramic river views, the Panorama Lounge which accommodates
up to 150 passengers, and the smaller Amalegro Lounge which is perfect for groups.
The glassed-in wellness area features a Fitness Center and
a Massage and Beauty Salon. The ship has an elevator as well as 25 bicycles
on board for you to enjoy, while exploring on shore.
View the passing scenery from the Sun deck while lounging in one of the deck chairs, walk a few laps on the walking track or sip a cocktail and relax in the whirlpool. Part of the Sun deck can stay open even
when cruising under the low bridges of the Main-Danube Canal.
Inside your tastefully decorated cabin, you'll find all the amenities of a fine
hotel, white-on-white plush bedding with down pillows and down duvet, a cozy
sitting area, direct-dial telephone, flat-screen TV with local and satellite
channels, internet access, safe, individually controlled airconditioning and
ample closet space. All 75 staterooms are outside; 62 (82%) feature French
balconies. Although rarely found on European river cruise ships, the 4 suites
aboard the MS Amalegro are extra spacious - 255 square feet. They feature a
sitting area with a sofa and two chairs, floor-to-ceiling windows with French
balcony and a luxurious, extra spacious bathroom with bathtub and shower. The
suites sell quickly, so early reservations are recommended.
The Amalegro visits all of Europe’s memorable sights, from the great Dutch
trading cities of Amsterdam and Rotterdam all the way to the Black Sea, via
the Rhine, Moselle and Danube Rivers and a great linking canal. All along the
way, her guests will enjoy historic cities, castles, cathedrals and monasteries,
and all the rich cultural traditions that thrive today.
At Amadeus, we believe that to get a true feel for distant lands, you must connect with the local experts. Our resident guides, and our own years of travel experience, allow us to create shore excursions that show you both the famous highlights and well-kept secrets that only the locals can share. Best of all, shore excursions are included in the price, as are your transfers (for air inclusive bookings), taxes, and fees. There are no surprises. Tipping cruise and shore excursion staff is up to you.
