Ship Description

Built in 1999, the Viking Sky is one of the older deluxe river ships in the Viking fleet however its staterooms are in line with the newer ships built after 2001. Each stateroom has double beds which can be put together to a form a larger sized bed. Furthermore the all-inclusive cruise program that includes both airfare and shore excursions, make a river cruise on the Viking Sky not only a comprehensive cultural and historical experience but also an exceptionally good value. Most members of the ship's crew are from central and eastern Europe. English is the official onboard language, and all crew speak fluent English as do tour guides escorting shore excursions, and all public address announcements are made only in English. The cruise manager is the main contact person onboard the ship and is on hand to respond to individual passenger questions and requests throughout the cruise, and also organizes shore excursions and introduces guest speakers.

The Viking Sky has Restaurant, lounge and bar, library, sun deck, swimming pool, souvenir shop, sauna, whirlpool, elevator, stair lift to sun deck, laundry service, voltage 220V, 2 plugs. 75 deluxe cabins, 4 optional deluxe suites. All spacious outside cabins (154 sq. ft.), featuring bathroom with shower, air conditioning, telephone, TV, hairdryer and safe. Suites are cabins with connecting doors on the upper deck, including an additional bathroom with tub and a sofa.
